Punjab Agricultural Income Tax Calculator
If you own agricultural land in Punjab, you’ve probably wondered whether you actually owe tax on what your land earns, and if so, how much. Fortunately, a Punjab Agricultural Income Tax Calculator exists for exactly this reason — it turns a confusing slab structure into a number you can actually plan around.
The Federal Exemption Doesn’t Cover Everything
However, most landowners don’t realize that agricultural income is exempt from federal tax only under the Income Tax Ordinance, and that exemption stops at the federal level. Because taxing agricultural income is a provincial matter under the Constitution, the district collector in Punjab collects this tax separately, under the Punjab Land Revenue Act. In other words, FBR won’t ask about your crop income, but the Punjab government will and skipping it isn’t the same as being exempt from it.

Farm income is exempt from federal tax — but every province charges its own. Select your province and enter your figures to work out what you owe under Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, or Balochistan law.

The Slabs You Actually Need to Know
For Tax Year 2026-27, based on the Punjab Agricultural Income Tax (Amendment) Act, the applicable slabs work like this:
- Annual agricultural income up to Rs. 600,000 — exempt, no tax
- Rs. 600,001 to Rs. 1,200,000 — 15% of the amount exceeding Rs. 600,000
- Rs. 1,200,001 to Rs. 1,600,000 — Rs. 90,000 plus 20% of the amount exceeding Rs. 1,200,000
- Rs. 1,600,001 to Rs. 3,200,000 — Rs. 170,000 plus 30% of the amount exceeding Rs. 1,600,000
- Rs. 3,200,001 to Rs. 5,600,000 — Rs. 650,000 plus 40% of the amount exceeding Rs. 3,200,000
- Above Rs. 5,600,000 — Rs. 1,610,000 plus 45% of the amount exceeding Rs. 5,600,000
Corporate farming entities are taxed separately — small companies at 20%, and other companies at 29% of agricultural income.
Worth noting: the Punjab Budget 2026-27 also proposed a flat per-acre charge for landowners holding more than 12.5 acres, alongside these income-based slabs, so large landholders should check whether both apply to their situation.
Why This Assumption Costs Landowners
As a result, many farmers assume federal exemption covers everything, and that assumption often costs them. For instance, penalties accumulate quietly, notices arrive without warning, and by the time most landowners realize the gap, they’re already behind on multiple tax years. Therefore, understanding which authority actually taxes your income, and what triggers that liability, is the first step before any Punjab Agricultural Income Tax Calculator can give you a number worth trusting. Ultimately, this clarity is what separates landowners who plan ahead from those who scramble to catch up.
Why a Calculator Actually Helps Here
Manually working through six slabs, figuring out which bracket you fall into, applying the right fixed amount plus percentage most landowners don’t want to do this by hand during harvest season, when there’s already enough to manage. A Punjab Agricultural Income Tax Calculator does that math for you. You enter your total annual income from crops, livestock, or land rent. It tells you exactly where you land and what you owe.
Getting the slab wrong, even by mistake, means overpaying or underpaying. Underpaying comes with penalties once the district collector’s office catches the gap. A Punjab Agricultural Income Tax Calculator removes that guesswork.
